Initial Assessment

Prior to any commencement of therapy, an initial assessment interview must be completed with the client is essential. This will last up to one hour and will:
-
Enable the you to get a feel for what therapy involves and how it may help you. It will also enable you to ask any questions or raise any concerns
-
Provide a time to discuss the practicalities by looking at times, cancellations, fees, confidentiality and the general rules that both you and your therapiat must abide by.
-
Enable the therapist to make an assessment of the your presenting problems and difficulties and decide with you the goals of therapy and areas to be worked on in future sessions.
-
More importantly, this initial session is designed for you to make an assessment of the therapist and to decide if you can work with them.
